My methodology
Before anything else, I get to know you and what you're looking for.
Some students want more confidence in conversation while others want support with writing, presentations, interviews, academic work, creative projects, or professional communication.
Lessons are built around your interests and goals, using real materials and meaningful conversations as the starting point for vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and expression.
Over the years, I've worked with artists, project managers, researchers, CEO's, journalists, students, and professionals from many different fields. I love working with people from different backgrounds and supporting them wherever they are in their journey with English. I hold a degree in Communication Studies and Art History from Temple University in Philadelphia and a TEFL certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from The TEFL Academy.
What a lesson might look like
We often begin with a short check-in, followed by a video, article, podcast, image, or conversation prompt connected to your interests and goals. From there, lessons may include:
- guided conversation and speaking practice
- role-play activities based on real-life situations
- writing exercises and feedback
- storytelling using images, sound, or prompts
- vocabulary development through authentic materials
- pronunciation and fluency practice
- discussions about books, films, current events, or topics you care about
- reflective journaling and freewriting
- creative exercises for imagination and expression
- grammar support integrated naturally into conversation
