A Poem About Dreams While You Take a Walk Through Magritte's Museum
jump into a pitch black landscape,
cut through the thick veils of fear,
settle within the silence,
clear space for tomorrow; offer it some tea.
watch the top of the mountain emerging from the clouds,
invite in-person, real life, meat & bones encounters.
don't fight the dusty sunlight penetrating the eyes
when you first wake up in the morning;
welcome the day, whatever shape it comes.
speaking of shapes;
notice the moment when a crooked image of the past
becomes a soft memory,
like a handmade bowl; the kind that makes you
hunch over it
while you feast on a loving meal made by a good friend.
be patient with the body,
imagine having to adjust to a multitude of sensations;
ever changing, each hour.
don't associate every dark cloud with the heart ache;
remember the volatility of the mending process.
as the day darkens, the minutes shrink, the pain goes for a walk;
confess a dream
