a poem on being
today I am cruel, unfair, stubborn
my mirror seems dissatisfied.
not even the yellow tulips
could simmer myself down.
today I am distant
one minute close, the next bleak
shuffling through the room's temperature,
another confusing winter.
today I am sure of myself
and of everyone around me.
as I try to suffocate them with my needs
I remember to blame the after hours.
today I am everything and nothing.
as I peel myself off of bed,
the sun light brushes my hair
I know I can be forgiven.
